Mental Health Awareness Week is May 9-13 and our school has some amazing activities planned.

Monday, May 9Green is the colour used to raise awareness about the importance of our mental health. Wear green today to show that you care about your own mental health and the mental health of others.

Tuesday, May 10- Classrooms will participate in a school wide activity that will be displayed at the front entrance of our school.

Wednesday, May 11– Taking care of ourselves means treating ourselves to something special every now and then. Our school will be supporting our local bakery (Beyond Bread) today. Order forms were sent home on Friday and due back by Wednesday May 4. Please note students can only order a maximum of two cookies. Today is also dress for comfort day! Pj’s allowed!

Thursday, May 12– Our mental health benefits when we provide an act of service. Donate a Toonie or a Tin for the bin today. Your Tonnie/and or tin will be donated to the Interlake Food Bank. Our My VOICE students will deliver all donations to the Food Bank. There will be a class prize for the classroom that collect the most donations. Our mental health also benefits when we set aside our devices for a few hours and focus on the present moment and the people we are with. All staff and students will be device free between 8:45am and 3:30pm today. Devices can be brought to school but will need to remain in backpacks or lockers.

Friday, May 13– Dress in school colours or wear your ESCS gear to school and show some school spirit. Our entire school will head out for a wellness walk at 2:00 pm and return at 2:30 pm.

Our classes also the opportunity to participate in Mental Health Month Bingo! We have attached the Bingo HERE for you to take a look at and maybe it is something you can do at home with your family!
